“Knowledge is superior to wealth, for knowledge protects you and you protect your wealth; knowledge is a judge and wealth is condemned; wealth is diminished by spending and knowledge is purified by its propagation; the scholar is superior to the one who fasts, prays and strives in the way of Allah.” This succinct yet profound statement illustrates the noble status knowledge, learning and erudition occupies in the Islamic tradition and its pivotal role in the development of a compassionate and merciful society. For knowledge exhorts us towards contributing positively within our communities; it invites us to assume a mastery over our desire to pursue the excesses of materialism and frivolity; it curbs the wanton disregard for the needs of others; it enables us to traverse upon a path paved with justice and fairness for all; it is the thread that strengthens the fabric of our ties and erects a fortress against the harm and discord caused by extremism, discrimination and prejudice; its pursuance is the founding reason for the existence of Al-Ikhlaas Education Complex and its produce is the fruit of the Fountains of Knowledge. For those of you who are unfamiliar with our project, Al-Ikhlaas Education Complex is the vehicle by which we aspire to synthesize the two essential ingredients required for success in this life and the Hereafter: an exemplary standard of education and a proficiency in the Islamic sciences. Instructed in an environment furnished by the noble characteristics prescribed by the Creator and depicted by His Messenger, we believe individuals cultivated in this manner will exemplify the most beautiful, noble and humane aspects of Islam and as a consequence help contribute towards the rectification of society. The recent acquisition of two buildings to accommodate our vision has been a significant development in the brief but innovative history of Al-Ikhlaas Education Complex. It is our sincere hope that the premises situated on Norfolk Street will be sufficient to quench the thirst of those concerned parents who wish to send their children to an Islamic Primary School, and fill the void created by the absence of such a school. Thereafter it is hoped that the building situated on William Street will inaugurate the second phase of our project and witness the establishment of a secondary school for girls. You are therefore invited to peruse this site at your leisure. We look forward to your comments, support and assistance.
